Try a few of these on for size:

    *STAYING ACTIVE*:

The Path
- Check out our Nine Fall Family Walks that you can do with your kiddos rain or shine.

- Try one of CVK’s 10 ways to enjoy a rainy day - OUTSIDE!

Vision
- Hit the LINC Youth Centre in Courtenay with your tweens and teens. Indoor skate park, family night, games, food and fun.

- Try out the climbing wall at Campbell River’s On The Rocks

Family
- Check out the farms around the Courtenay Estuary and along Knight Road in Comox to learn about one of the largest Wintering populations of Trumpeter Swans in North America. Getting into birding is a fantastic way to spend any rainy season.

Salmon Toddler
- Hit local creeks and watersheds to watch the salmon run. Between September and February a variety of salmon push their way up local rivers to spawn and watching it is amazing.

- Stop By The Video Store to plan an adventure with the Top 10 Local Family Movie Adventures where you combine a movie with a family learning outing.

- Take the kids swimming!

- Find a Diaper Gym where your kiddos can laugh, hang out and jump around!

Rock Star
- Bundle up and go Tide Pooling. The rainy months can be some of the best times to see unusual creatures or have a peaceful day at the beach uninterrupted by other folks.

Any Day Adventurer- Think puddle jumping, pull out the gum boots and hit the Trails around the area. There are plenty of short ones close to town that make for a fun adventure.

    *LEARNING*:

Oh Canada
- Take a virtual learning vacation and then create crafts, feasts and other fun related to your trip.

Carving
- To mix up learning and a really great time, spend some time making the rounds of area museums. You definitely won’t find yourself bored as each one of the many great museums in the region offer a unique and family-friendly perspective on our heritage.

Art
- Do a bit of an art walk through local galleries and let your kiddos decide their favourite period or artist. Then, hit the craft store for some supplies and the library for a book or two and let the kids go crazy with their creativity.

    *SPARK CREATIVITY*:

Butterfly Kids Craft
