Comox Valley Kids is a daily slice from mom, writer and photographer Robin Rivers of how-tos, where-tos, and what’s-ups for parents and kiddos in Vancouver Island’s Comox Valley region and beyond.
This all got rolling in March 2007 when my husband Ken and I along with our daughter made the leap back to Ken’s childhood home after years of city living in San Francisco. We quickly discovered that while the charm of life on Vancouver Island is that it has its own pace, a tremendous beauty and boundless energy, the down side of being the new kid here was that finding all that is family friendly took a whole lot of leg work.
I’ve spent the last 17 years as a daily newspaper and magazine writer working for publications throughout North America and decided to put that experience to work for families. So, now we’re here every day, working on putting the ins and outs of family-friendly life in one place so that as this fantastic region of Canada continues to grow, parents and kiddos can have a resource to find what they are looking for, discuss issues, trade ideas and entertain themselves.
